Tools for everyday retail
Plan simple shelf geometry, inspect an example CSV format and prepare product data or an equipment enquiry.
All inputs stay in this browser. No transmission, no storage and no account needed.
How many items fit side by side?
Calculate the count with the same usable width on every level and the same item width. Use measured dimensions.
Enter your measured dimensions.
Geometry only: floor(width ÷ item width) × levels. Does not assess depth, height, load capacity, stability, clearance or product selection. Follow manufacturer safety instructions.
Understand a CSV format
UTF-8, semicolon delimiter, every cell quoted. This is a learning schema with no guaranteed POS or shop compatibility. Always check your target system specification.
The preview is explicitly synthetic. EAN stays blank; it contains no real products, prices or offers.
"internal_reference";"product_name";"ean";"unit";"notes" "SYNTHETIC-EXAMPLE";"SYNTHETIC SAMPLE ITEM";"";"Sample unit";"Format example only; EAN intentionally blank"
Columns: internal_reference = your reference; product_name = name; ean = verified original code; unit = unit; notes = notes. Machine column names stay the same in every language.
Prepare product data and imports
Work with verified manufacturer or supplier data and test in a safe test environment first.
- Check the target schema: required fields, delimiter, encoding and permitted units.
- Verify item reference and EAN against the original source; retain leading zeros as text.
- Document product name, variant, pack content and sales unit clearly.
- Use approved current sources for prices, taxes and mandatory information.
- Test duplicates, empty required fields and import errors with a few verified records.
- Prepare a backup and rollback plan; check the import result in the target system.
Prepare an equipment enquiry
A clear enquiry helps a technical assessment. This list contains no offers, availability or promised terms.
- Describe intended use, installation location and required function.
- Measure usable width, height and depth; consider doors and access routes.
- Check power supply, environmental conditions and manufacturer requirements.
- List capacity needs, maintenance and cleaning as points to assess.
- Ask the supplier specifically about delivery, installation, costs and terms.
